Refractive surgery business owners, are you thinking too small?
Why aim for moderate growth rates that solely keep pace with inflation when you can double your business in three years?
Setting goals based on averages can mislead you. Averages mask variations and unique factors. They can trap you in mediocrity and create a false sense of success.
Instead, imagine your practice doubling in 3 years. That’s a 25.99% annual growth rate. Or 6% a quarter. Or just 1.94% monthly growth.
Ask: “What’s stopping us from doing that?”
The answer is your constraint
Once you’ve identified it, focus all your resources on unlocking that constraint.
Here are a few questions I use to excite my customers’ imagination about what’s possible.
- Awareness: Are you spending enough on awareness so that you can identify and double down on the ads that drive the most conversions?
- Engage: Are you testing your landing pages to maximize conversion rates to bookings?
- Subscribe: Are you offering compelling lead magnets or entry-point offers to encourage potential patients to subscribe to your email list?
- Convert: Have you optimized your consultation booking process to convert leads into patients? Bonus: Does your staff know the basics of sales and objection handling?
- Excite: Have you engineered specific Ah-Ha moments during consultations and treatments to exceed patient expectations and create excitement?
- Ascend: Are you offering additional services or products that enhance the patient experience or systematically increasing your prices to increase customer lifetime value?
- Advocate: Are you encouraging satisfied patients to leave positive reviews and testimonials?
- Promote: Are you executing proven referral programs to incentivize patients to refer friends and family?
If not, then you may be justified for having small aims. Or, you could set more ambitious goals and make them happen.
